new to bread making August 29, 2010 Knowbody I am a newbie to bread making having got fed up with mass produced (unprintable word)sold in supermarkets I found this book very helpful and added to what I had found out from the web, its worth buying for sure
brilliant book August 23, 2010 Matty Loweswater (UK) This is an excellent bread making book, it gives a superb step by step guide to making bread by hand for beginners.Ive been making bread by hand for a long time and this is the best bread book ive comr across.
If you want to ditch the bread machine and start making real artizan breads then this book is a good starting point.

Breadmaking / River Cottage August 7, 2010 Jeanius This well laid out easy to read book is full of interest & I really enjoyed reading it .The author has a real passion for real bread and you will be enthused by that as it rubs off on you ! realising that most of the bread we eat is breads distant cousin .I do bake my own bread and still found it interesting as to learn new skills and improve is a great challenge & acheivement.I would reccomend it to anyone that bakes or intends to bake bread as the science is fascinating and to gain knowledge about different flours etc.It is also very therapeutic
A n excellent read July 31, 2010 M. Watson (Carmarthenshire) I've made mediocre bread on & off over the years. I haven't tried any since buying this book but I am confident that I will be able to improve vastly on my previous efforts. Don't be put off by the small dimensions, this book is an excellent read - I wouldn't have expected a bread making book to make me laugh! It manages to put across the technical stuff in a way that is easy to understand and the passion & enthusiasm with which it is written is infectious. I'm really looking forward to a rainy day in autumn to have a go.
