I have always loved this book. This copy was a birthday present for my 10-yr old grandson who has just discovered it; one of the poems was read out is his class.

Beautiful edition for child - lovely quality and illustrations by a well-loved children's illustrator. Good value. Thought about getting it for my child aged just 4, but on reflection it is more suitable for a slightly older child given the vocabulary and length of some of the verse.

Bought this book for my daughter who loves cats,unlike myself.
However this is an excellent book easy to read and wonderful
illustrations. You will recognise your own cat somewhere in this
book. Cats the musical is based on these poems so suits "musical
cat" lovers. Wonderful product at a bargain price. 10 out of 10.

The book is fine BUT when I unwrapped it I found the paper slip cover was on UPSIDE DOWN.
No problem, I thought, I will turn it round; only to find that the blue hard back cover was also UPSIDE DOWN with the pretty cats chasing butterflies therefore on the back cover , again of course UPSIDE DOWN.
I shall of course keep the book, if it is a one off mistake it might become valuable (who am I kidding?) but for others who are giving it as a present it might be just worth looking at it before you hand it over.Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats
