The Snail and the Whale July 27, 2010 doc Another excellent story from Julia Donaldson - perfect for reading to my grandchildren ( 4 and 2 ) - who enjoyed the flowing words and interesting pictures telling the story.
Beautiful story, lovely illustrations May 16, 2010 Toddler Tales (Shropshire) Another fantastic book from the Donaldson/Scheffler team. Toddlers love to have the same books read to them again and again, this kind of book is a god send to weary parents, cos it's definitely one you won't get bored of reading out loud.
Reading fun! April 14, 2010 I. Smith (UK) Julia ans Axle have done it again - another fantastic story book for kids. My 2.5year old loves it and I think I could recite the story of by heart now - I have been asked to read it so many times and its one story I don't get bored of either!!
Small snail to Signicant Snail! April 14, 2010 U. Asghar (London, England) The Snail and the Whale is a beautifully illustrated book, with tongue twisting rhyme and strong themes. The snail wants to explore the world and does so by making an unlikely alliance with a humpback whale. After exploring far away and vast lands, the snail concludes that he feels very small indeed. The snail symolizes young children who are curious about their world, and how they can feel insignificant in the world. However, the smallest creature can make a difference, as in the story the small snail helps his friend the whale and in doing so draws attention to the plight of endangered species and how each individual can make a difference to the world.
I have also recently written a new children's book in which a young princess's curiosity about a forest leads her to exploring the forest and making some unexpected friends. A spell cast will test Zaara's bravery-and with no loyal subjects to come to her rescue, she is on her own in the deep, dark forest. Come what may, Zaara has learned the true power of friendship and that if this circle of friendship is to be unbroken, she will lead the way as a princess-and as a friend.
Princess Zaara and the Enchanted Forest
Another great Julia Donaldson book! April 6, 2010 Ms. C. Jones (UK) As with all of Julia Donaldson's books, this is another brilliant book. My 3 year old daughter absolutely loves this book. It is a story about a snail who hitches a ride on the back of the whale. It rhymes brilliantly and has got fabulous pictures. Another one of my daughters favourite books.
