I can't remember how many people I urged to read Evermore, and I wouldn't have any qualms about recommending this one too. Ever and Damen are back again, but the path of true love never does run straight, even for Immortals. A new British boy appears at school, unleashing a chain of events that causes the unthinkable to happen. Ever then has a hard decision to make between her past and her future...
I really enjoyed the twists and turns this story took. It must be so tempting when a first book is successful to just keep writing to that formula but Alyson Noel took a risk here and I think it paid off. It's not going to appeal much to anyone just wanting another book about the romance itself, but it moved the story on well and the ending left me gagging for more.

Really enjoyed reading this book, escapism at is best. Loved the characters. You really need to read Ever More first though. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Ok, so I wasn't as impressed with this one as the first. It ended... and left me a little bit puzzled. It was odd.
But bizarre ending aside, the story continues from the first and still kept me compelled enough to read in just a couple of sittings again.
The story was fast paced, especially as it met its climax and this made for a satisfying read.
I would say that perhaps there are better books in this genre. But I still gave it four stars because I enjoyed the first and still liked this one. I have no doubt I will enjoy the next, but I found them a little lacking a certain spark felt by other series'.
I felt that Blue Moon was a little watered down. This is what I've been grasping at. Evermore has a wonderfuly energy and Blue Moon seems to be flagging a bit. Hopefully the next installment will drink a red bull to get things bouncing back to life.
Would I recommend this? Yep. Defo a good read. But don't expect great things. It's not an Alexander of the book world. ^^

I really enjoyed Evermore. I felt it was unique and was a great start to the series. As such, I had high expectations for Blue Moon.
While I liked it overall I have to admit I found this one really hard to get into at first. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it - while I was reading it I liked it. The problem was as soon as I put it down I found I was not compelled to pick it back up again, finding myself reading something else instead. Once I got about half way through the book things completely changed. It was as if someone had flicked a switch and I raced through the rest of the novel, not stopping once! I think this is because Ever started to take control and regain some of the sass she was lacking in the first part of the story - to begin with it was as if she was just reacting to everything instead of trying to find a way to change it.
Ever is a great character and even though I sometimes get frustrated with her I really like her and enjoy taking the journey with her. The story itself is intriguing - I enjoyed finding out about Damen's history and about Summerland, and considering how this installment ends I am now very interested to see how things pan out in the next book. I am glad I persevered because the second half was fantastic! It's a shame it didn't grab me from the start but it definitely ended on a high and I'm looking forward to Shadowland when it's published.
The Course of Love never runs smooth June 9, 2010

The second novel in Alyson's Immortal series and one that has a lot to live up to. After all with the way in which the original was left it was pretty much a shocker for the reader. What perhaps makes this tale a bit more realistic is the more rounded nature to the characters with a lot of their personality defects coming to the fore within, demonstrating that even when love is found, its not smooth sailing.
As with the original its got beautiful prose, great character development and finally topped up with just a sprinkle of reasonable dialogue wrapped up with some quite complex emotional issues to deal with. Great stuff.
