Worth every penny July 14, 2010 RS65 These books seem to divide opinion with a number of reviews commenting on flippancy and style. It is undoubtedly written in an idiosyncratic manner that is fairly common in US books and magazines. For all that, the content is excellent and very direct. I have learnt more in a week with these tomes than from any other photography guide I have ever looked at previously. The content is catchy such that you can actually recall it when shooting and for that reason I rate it highly. Ignore the naysayers and buy it, you won't regret it.
Scott Kelby's box set July 11, 2010 Ae Murray (global) Fantastic set of books. Lead you from common "mistakes" made by enthusiastic "snappers" to looking for shot composition. Especially handy are the "how to take this stype of shot" hints - what to look, for, what shutter and aperture settings, what light, with/without tripod. All in easy to understand, non-tech speak. Superb!
Nice Choice for Beginners! June 23, 2010 Marlon G. Picarzo (Dublin, Ireland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got hold of this two weeks ago and i am very glad i bought this 3 books coz' learning photography was made very easy and it is like reading "komiks" (if you are a filipino you know this), all the tricks and tips are all very practical and very easy to understand, it's just a matter of practice and more practice... a good hobby i suppose for beginners but need to flash out some more bucks if you intend to be a serious photographer... all in all "Five Stars" as my best friend would say.
Practical, useful, from basis to middle level May 18, 2010 Benavent (Valencia, ES) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The book does what Scott Kelby promise in his promo video, he goes straight to the point in an plain way. He also has sense of humour. I recommend strongly buy the three books package since sometimes he refers to a former concept.
He does not expend time on technical explanations just writte what you have to do in order to achieve certain target.
If you're an amateur photographer trying to learn properly but speedy it may help a lot. It also has helped me to avoid problems yet not suffered by attending his advices.
Superb May 17, 2010 Mrs. H. Wyeth (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is by far the best book on photography I have ever read.
After only reading book one, I have learned so much.
It is full of helpful hints tips and humour.
Very highly recommended.
