5 out of 5 stars Kelby   May 31, 2010
Paul Hodgson (West Yorkshire, UK)
always produces books that are by and large, easy to digest. This book is no different. If you're interested in photography and want a quiet afternoon read that is informative, helpful and easy to put into practice, there's few other books that provide the insights Scott Kelby's book provide.

If you're buying them from amazon then you're not having to lay down a lot of cash and couple to the quality of these books, it makes a whole lot of sense to buy this book and have it handy to read and learn from.

Very worthwhile purchase.

My girlfriend told me I had to take a book with me on Holiday this year so she could have at least one day to lie by the pool/beach without me moaning "I'm bored"...
Saw the deal on Amazon and bought all three books, pretty new to DSLR photography and tried several other books that half the time I didn't understand. These books however were absolutely amazing, a mine field of information, set out in a way that even I could understand, there are so many obvious things in it that you wouldn't know without being told... Read all three books whilst on Holiday so now need another holiday to put it all into practice...
These books will now be in pride of place on my book shelf as a reference, should I forget something...Worth every penny, but not dear anyway

4 out of 5 stars At last   May 21, 2010
Mrs. Margaret G. Thomas (Argyll, Scotland)
I bought book 1 several weeks ago as I wanted to improve my photography and update all my photography books. I was the delighted to find that book 2 was on this site, I have been trying for months to create a background effect like the pro's have and I couldn't do it. But hey success I found the answer in book 2. So needless to say when I discovered book 3 was on the market, I jumped at it and bought them.
A great book for tips and advice and I particularly like the try bit sections, it really is like having your own pro' photographer at hand.
Great Book and a must for anyone wanting to improve their photography.

3 out of 5 stars Good, but not perfect!   May 20, 2010

As has been said by many people previously, this book has some good tips but between tips on external flash and studio portrait techniques there's not as much useful content for the average camera user as the previous books. It's worth buying for the "getting the shot" type stuff but I personally think it deviates a little too far towards people looking to set up a small photography business, where the other two volumes were more aimed at the average photographer. In that sense I can't give the book more than 3 stars because there's specific books and college courses etc for setting yourself up as a professional photographer.

I view these books as a way for the average photographer to improve their shots of friends and family, landscapes, foreign countries and maybe some macro for fun ( which was the focus of the earlier volumes). That's still in this book, but there's also a lot of content that just isn't useful for most people who will be reading it.

Worth buying, but not as good as the previous two books!
