4 out of 5 stars Interesting   March 12, 2010

It's an extremely interesting read, and I will probably implement some of the tips. The layout is not fantastic though and the whole 59 secs thing is totally irrelevant.

5 out of 5 stars One of only two books you'll ever need...   January 28, 2010

Nothing to add, get this and Flip It - all the rest are the same as each other - these two are less new-age and far more realistic and relevant to today's lifestyles.

4 out of 5 stars Strong research credentials   January 19, 2010

I want to improve myself and pick up a lot of personal development books. Some books are clearly without substance. Others, like this one, are full of substance.

Wiseman mines the academic research that has been published on topics such as motivation, persuasion, and creativity to present it in bite-sized chunks. What I like is that the advice therefore has been tested by universities and academics so I feel I can trust that the advice is something that will work.

The book is very readable and I can pick it up and read a few pages at a time without losing the thread. The downside of that however is that the book overall is a little sporadic and haphazard: there's no overall, overarching theme to bring it all together nicely.
